Continuing a long-standing relationship between ETM and the Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, 15 students from ETM partner schools are attending Usdan's summer day-camp in Huntington, Long Island. The camp offers a variety of programs for children aged 6-18 including music, art, theater, dance, chess, and writing.
This summer, six ETM students are participating in the chorus program, five students are participating in the string orchestra program, and four students are participating in the brass and woodwind sections. Our students have only been playing their instruments for one year and are flourishing in Usdan's enriching musical environment.
ETM thanks Dale Lewis, Executive Director of the Usdan Center, for his ongoing outreach to ETM students. Since 1998, this scholarship program has given ETM students the rare opportunity to continue their study of music over the summer while school is not in session. The classes, lessons, concerts, and assemblies provide a total environment in which students can hone their skills, fuel their passions, and have the experience of a lifetime in such a high quality music environment.
The ETM students who attended the camp this summer live in the Bronx and Manhattan.
