NYC Spring Music Festival Supports Music Education for Inner-City Schools

nycsmf_logoThe New York City Spring Music Festival (NYCSMF) will feature musicians performing throughout the month of March to support music education. Proceeds raised through the NYCSMF will go to support Education Through Music. Sponsors of this inaugural year for the festival include Grain Audio, Hallak CleanersJoyful Noise Recordings and Bermuda Limosuine. Media sponsors for the festival include Oh My Rockness and Joonbug.

The NYC Spring Music Festival will be a month-long festival providing many options to music lovers, at venues across New York City. Musicians of all genres, including rock, pop, jazz, classical, gospel, latin, electronic, and hip hop are invited to participate. Funds generated through the NYC Spring Music Festival will go to support Education Through Music (ETM), New York City’s premier nonprofit dedicated to partnering with inner-city schools to provide music education as a core subject throughout the school year.

Musicians that will be performing include Yacht Sea rock band (Connolly’s Time Square, March 1st); Seattle Student Orchestras (Symphony Hall, March 23); a special performance of three bands: Solids with PUP and Pachangacha presented by Oh My Rockness (Glasslands, March24); The Allah-Las presented by Grain Audio (Rough Trade, March 27) and Caspa Narkz (Mangoville Bar on March 29).
