Jeffrey Lipton serves as the Assistant Program Director-Curriculum & Instruction, joining ETM in July 2015. Prior to joining ETM, he was the Chair of Music & Director of Choral Activities at Five Towns College for 18 years. While at Five Towns College Jeff taught courses in applied music (voice), choral music education, sight reading, choral and instrumental conducting and public speaking; he also conducted the FTC Choir, Chorus and Vocal Jazz ensemble. His choral ensembles have performed at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fischer Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Carnegie Hall. Jeff’s most notable performances were with the Vocal Jazz ensemble performing with the NY Pops, and being a featured ensemble at the NYS School Music Association Winter Conference. He has been a guest conductor for All County and District music festivals on Long Island and upstate NY. Prior to teaching at Five Towns College, Jeff taught public school in the William Floyd, East Meadow, Brentwood and Southold school districts. Jeff earned his B.M. in Music Education from SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music, and a Masters of Music in Performance-Choral Conducting from Bowling Green State University. While at Bowling Green State Jeff was fortunate to have studied choral conducting with Terry Eder and instrumental conducting with Robert Spano, musical director of the Atlanta Symphony.
