Ulises Solano

Ulises Solano This fall marks Ulises Solano’s 9th year teaching with ETM. Originally from Costa Rica, Ulises has worked through ETM in both public and parochial schools—morning and after-school programs. For the last 3 years he has focused on K through 5 at PS121, specializing on early grades and special education. “Mr. U,” as he is called, at PS121 brings with himself a long history of teaching experience that traces back to when he was 16 years old, teaching guitar and forming small Rondalla groups in Costa Rica, as well as children choirs. For many years Ulises taught private voice lessons and led church choirs in Bloomington, Indiana, where he completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Vocal Performance at Indiana University’s main campus. Ulises is an accomplished operatic tenor, with an extensive career in the field. Performances include world premieres, music festivals, concerts, recitals and operas in many parts of the world, including major US cities such as New York, Miami, San Francisco and Chicago. His musical career has taken him to Venezuela, Central America, Austria, Germany, Hungary, and the Philippines.
