On Thursday June 14th, Darius Nichols, Valisia LeKae Little, and Elisa Van Duyne, three stars of the acclaimed Broadway musical 110 in the Shade, visited with third, fourth and fifth grade students at ETM partner school P.S. 155 in East Harlem. After introducing themselves, the artists gave students a brief lesson on music that had inspired their careers. They then treated kids to a selection of Broadway tunes, popular songs, and even demonstrated their yodeling skills.
"Music and theater have influenced me since childhood," said Ms. LeKae Little after the visit. "It has always been a dream of mine to bring the joy of music to children, and today we are being blessed with the opportunity to do so."
ETM thanks the cast members for donating their time and talent, Kerri Sanford, an ETM supporter, for arranging the visit, and the faculty and staff of P.S. 155 for making this special day possible for the students.
