Adrianne Prosini

Ms. Prosini found her love of music at age 9. By the time she finished high school, Ms. Prosini knew she wanted to be a music educator. She pursued undergraduate study at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. There, she studied bassoon and completed her music education degree.
After graduation, Ms. Prosini taught band, orchestra and general music in New Jersey for 6 years. During that time, Ms. Prosini doubled the size the instrumental music program, started a recorder program for third graders, and hosted a recital featuring Carnatic music. Additionally, Ms. Prosini assisted in PTO fundraising efforts by giving performances at the local Barnes and Noble.
Upon receiving tenure, Ms. Prosini began her Master of the Arts in Music Education degree at Montclair State University. Highlights of Ms. Prosini’s graduate study include instruction in ethnomusicology and democratic practice in the classroom.
Ms. Prosini most recently taught in the public schools of New York City Department of Education. Her professional experiences included teaching PreK-5 general music and middle school band. Her accomplishments at the NYCDOE include the inception of a select concert band and the organization of a school-wide concert for 300+ students.
