Anwar Robinson

Anwar Robinson is presently living his best life with an impressive range of public service and career accomplishments as a recording/performing artist, private school educator, front singer of a touring orchestra, Creative Arts Director, Master of Voice Pedagogy, piano instructor,  vocal coach to the stars, and of course his powerful voice will always be notably recognized for achieving a Top Finalist position on the world-renowned televised competition AMERICAN IDOL.   Anwar is currently the Director of Programs at Education Through Music (ETM), an organization that partners with under-resourced schools to provide music education as a core subject for all students. He most recently served as Artistic Music Director at the United Palace of Cultural Arts and as Director of Creative Arts at The IDEAL School of Manhattan. A proponent of inclusive music instruction for all students, he has developed arts curriculum with an emphasis on integration, social justice, and civic responsibility, while utilizing NYC Blueprint Standards. He has over a decade of experience as a music teacher in public and charter schools serving grades K-12 and has developed partnerships between youth enrichment programs and a variety of arts and cultural institutions including The Harlem School of Arts, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and National Dance Institute. He is also a respected vocalist, musician, director, and producer, having collaborated with Broadway and major recording artists such as Patti Labelle, Ashford & Simpson, Carole Bayer Sager, Lillias White, The Clark Sisters, Kelly Price, Peggi Blu, and Carrie Underwood. Anwar earned his B.A. in Music Education and Voice from Westminster Choir College at Rider University and is a cohort member of the NYSAIS Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI). www.anwarrobinson.com
