Anwar Robinson is proud to serve as Director of Programs at ETM, continuing his extensive career in education and the arts. He most recently served as Artistic Music Director at United Palace of Cultural Arts and as Director of Creative Arts at The IDEAL School of Manhattan. A proponent of inclusive music instruction for all students, he has developed arts curriculum with an emphasis on integration, social justice and civic responsibility, while utilizing NYC Blueprint Standards. He has over a decade of experience as a music teacher in public and charter schools serving grades K-12, and has developed partnerships between youth enrichment programs and a variety of arts and cultural institutions including The Harlem School of Arts, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and National Dance Institute. He is also a respected vocalist, musician, director and producer, having collaborated with Broadway and major recording artists such as Patti Labelle, Ashford & Simpson, Carole Bayer Sager, Lillias White, The Clark Sisters, Kelly Price, Peggi Blu and Carrie Underwood. His vocal talents were recognized on American Idol, where he was a finalist. Anwar earned his B.A. in Music Education and Voice from Westminster Choir College at Rider University and is a cohort member of NYSAIS Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI).
