Noah Teachey is a music educator from Wilmington, North Carolina who specializes in string orchestras, modern band ensembles, and music technology. He graduated from Colby College with a dual major in Music and Environmental Policy. After beginning his teaching career at the Gandhi Ashram School in Kalimpong, West Bengal, he returned to the US and worked as a collegiate rowing coach and substitute teacher in Central Maine for a year before moving to New York to pursue a master’s degree at Columbia University Teachers College. He worked as a state-certified music teacher in a public school in the South Bronx from 2017 to 2022 and in that time was named a Paul Simon Music Fellow and a Grammy Music Educator Award Quarterfinalist.
