Make an In-Kind Donation
Put music directly in a student's hands.
ETM-LA is always looking for donations of new or gently used instruments, equipment and other items for our classrooms and office. Your donation can directly impact the music education of a child or an entire school.
What we're looking for:
- New & Gently Used Instruments Only
- Stringed Instruments (Violins, Violas, Ukuleles)
- Band Instruments (Flutes, Clarinets)
- Electric Keyboards
- Drums (Hand Drums, Djembes, Tubanos)
- Misc. Percussion Instruments
- Classroom supplies (Gently Used Rugs, Shelving, Bean Bags)
What we're NOT looking for:
- Broken Items
- Grand/Baby Grand Pianos
- Guitars
- Recorders
- Tambourines
- Music Production Equipment
How to Donate:
Please fill out our In-Kind Donation Form and include as much detail about your item(s) as possible. A member of our staff will be in touch via email.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to drop off my item?
In some cases, a member of our staff may be able to pick up small item donations. For large item donations, we will need to coordinate a transfer directly to the school it will be going to, as our office is not able to accommodate large item donations.
How long will it take to hear back?
Initial response to your In-Kind Form submission should be received via email within 2-3 business days. (Subject to increase based on organization & school district schedules). The time from our initial email response to the pickup or drop off of your donation is determined by item size and quantity, pickup location, schedule of the recipient school, and other factors. Estimated time is 1-2 weeks.
Will I get an In-Kind Tax Acknowledgement Letter?
Yes. Upon receipt of your item, a Tax Acknowledgement will be sent to the email address listed in your donation form.
Physical copy sent by mail available upon request.
Can I donate a piano?
We are happy to accept electric keyboards, and in some cases may accept upright pianos. At this time, we are unable to accept donations of grand or baby grand pianos.
Please note that the coordination of an upright piano donation can take up to a month. Schools are required to obtain permission from their district before accepting large item donations, and we will need to coordinate with the donor, moving company, and school to schedule pickup and drop-off.
