How to become an Advocate for Music Education
All students deserve access to a high-quality music education that supports thinking skills and problem-solving, innovation, social emotional wellness, and life-long learning. Yet, 2007 to the present, over 61% of schools in California do not even have one full-time equivalent arts specialist. ETM-LA makes music education a reality for children who would otherwise have limited or no access to the arts.
- Spread the word about the need for music education and about ETM-LA’s approach.
- Drive the Arts! You can put arts and music programs in schools by sporting a California Arts License Plate. Proceeds from the plate help the California Arts Council support arts programs in CA schools. Apply for the Arts Council Plate and start driving funds to local arts education programs, including ETM-LA! Get Your Arts Plate.
- Help local under-resourced schools avoid drastic cuts to vital music and arts programs by telling Congress to support state education budgets through the National Association for Music Education’s fillable form.
