David Martinez is a music educator from Bogota, Colombia. He earned his Bachelors degree in Music Education with emphasis on Choral Conducting at the National Pedagogical University. He taught elementary and middle school music at the National Pedagogical Institute, where he also served as the High School Jazz Ensemble Director. After four years of teaching and winning the honor to perform for the President of Colombia, David was awarded a national public appointment to be a full time music professor at his alma mater. There, he taught Music Theory, Sight Singing and Class Piano for three years. Additionally, David worked as a researcher for the university on pedagogical subjects including piano pedagogy for teens, kindergarten music education repertoire, and Virtual Music Education. David has been part of the ETM team for two years at PS 76 in the Bronx as a General Music Teacher, Choir Director and Assistant Band Director.
