Max Ross

Max Ross teaches K-8 general music and chorus at P.S. 214 in the Bronx. In 2014, Max completed a leave replacement at Unqua Elementary School in Massapequa, NY, where his duties included teaching general music (grades 1-6), chorus (grades 4-6), and preparing voice students for NYSSMA and the annual Massapequa All-Elementary Concert. He graduated Magna cum Laude from Hofstra University in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, and the Department of Education issued his initial certification to teach music in January 2014.

Max’s primary instruments are guitar, piano and voice. He is an active songwriter and performer, playing in venues across Long Island and the New York metropolitan area both as a solo act and as an accompanist. His performance experience at Hofstra includes playing guitar in the Big Band and Jazz Combos, playing piano in Chamber Ensembles and singing in Chorale.

In addition to his public school teaching experience, Max has extensive experience teaching privately – from May 2014 to December 2015, he maintained a roster of roughly 25 guitar, piano and voice students, including students with special needs.
