Zach Cox is an Associate Data Scientist at Spotify. Having worked at the company since August 2019, he holds a position within the User Fraud department, helping to detect and mitigate fraudulent users from operating on the Spotify platform. Prior to Spotify, he served as the A&R Research Analyst for Elektra Music Group as the only data-oriented employee on the A&R team, helping to invigorate the A&R process with data and tech innovation. Out of this work, he assisted in signing global pop artist, Tones and I, via research analysis. Receiving his bachelor’s degree at Berklee College of Music in May 2018, he double majored in Music Production & Engineering and Music Business/Management. In his last year at college, his interests delved into reading books on entrepreneurship, psychology, personal development, and technology. The result created a keen curiosity for data science and machine learning—specifically where the technologies are headed and their impact on business and society.
