What’s Your Favorite Childhood Song?

By ETM Social Media and Content Manager Jennifer Williams

ETM partner school mom Alison teaches us a song she used to sing with her twin sister!

“Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”; “The Wheels on the Bus”; “Baby Shark”!

These songs have become synonymous with our childhoods.

These songs are also sung by children all over the world in all different languages, which sometimes leads to totally different interpretations!

Annie sings a song in Chichewa, a Bantu language in Africa.

Music truly transcends time and culture

There are also many lesser known songs from different countries that are taught to countless children across generations. Education Through Music teacher David Martinez gathered some of his student’s parents and asked them to showcase their favorite childhood songs from when they were growing up.

Grace shares how she learned about different stories through song.

In this lesson, you’ll learn traditional songs sung in Chichewa, a Bantu language in Africa; Hindi, and even some lesser-known songs in English!

A great video to share with your families and to learn more about different cultures around the world!
