Elijah Thomas is a music educator originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a proud product of the School District of Philadelphia and an alumnus of Temple University, where he received both his undergraduate degree in Jazz Arranging & Composition and Master of Music in Music Education from the nationally-renowned Esther Boyer College of Music & Dance. Mr. Thomas specializes in playing woodwind instruments, primarily flutes, saxophones and clarinet.
Elijah is state-certified to teach Kindergarten through 12th grade music, and has held teaching artist positions with Settlement Music School, Tune Up Philly (the community outreach division of The Philadelphia Youth Orchestra or PYO), Temple University Music Prep, The Primavera Fund and The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA, as well as considerable experience teaching private music students. His passion for teaching lies in lifelong education and motivational studies, ranging from teaching young children to adult learners. Mr. Thomas is incredibly excited to begin a career in New York, ready to serve the students and his community at large to the best of his abilities.
