Joseph F. McDonald

Mr. McDonald practiced for some 45 years as a partner specializing in tax law  in the firms of Lord, Day & Lord and then Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, both in New York City. He graduated from Amherst College with a BA in Economics in 1958, served for four years as a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps, and then attended the University of Michigan Law School where he was a member of the Law Review and from which he graduated with a JD in 1964. He also has an LLB in Tax from NYU Law School.

Mr. McDonald has been a member of the Board of the Vera Institute of Justice for some 25 years, having been Chairman of the Board of the Manhattan Bowery Corporation (now Project Renewal), a Vera “spin-off”, for over 10 years. He is an emeritus member of the Board of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. Mr. McDonald lives in Brooklyn where he spends as much time as possible with two of his five grandchildren, with time out for golf and working out at The Heights Casino.
