Celina Farmer
Born and raised in Anchorage, AK, violinist Celina Farmer has performed across her home state as Concertmaster of the Anchorage Bowl Chamber Orchestra, as a tenured first violinist in the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, and in ensembles such as the Juneau Symphony, the Alaska Chamber Singers, and the Anchorage Opera.
Since relocating to New York City in 2023, Celina has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Dimenna Center, Alice Tully Hall, and the People’s Forum. She has also been part of New York based projects and ensembles such as Soundoff: Music for Bail, Music at Co-Cath, the Saint George International Music Festival, the Classical Saxophone Project, and the Long Island Concert Orchestra.
Celina’s collegiate studies began at the Eastman School of Music, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance under the tutelage of Professor Renée Jolles. Celina also received a Master of Music in Violin Performance from DePaul University, where she studied with Professor Janet Sung and performed as Concertmaster of the DePaul Concert Orchestra and the DePaul Baroque Ensemble. Celina also spent three influential years studying with Paul Sonner at Interlochen Arts Academy.
In addition to performing, Celina is a passionate music educator! She is a Suzuki Certified private violin instructor and general music educator in NYC.
