Alia Naqvi
Alia Naqvi is a clarinetist, educator, and aspiring conductor from Deer Park, New York. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with an emphasis on clarinet studies at Ithaca College and recently began her Master’s Degree in Music Education at CUNY Queens College. During her undergraduate years, Alia performed in multiple ensembles, including the Wind Ensemble, Contemporary Ensemble, Jazz Repertory Band, and the Cornell Marching Band. Alia has worked in schools within the Westchester/Long Island area and recently attended the NAFME All-State Conference in Rochester, NY. She is an aspiring conductor and has participated in instrumental conducting workshops with clinicians including Dr. Daniel Cook, Dr. Rodney Dorsey, and Dr. Mallory Thompson at the Northeast Conducting Symposium in Ithaca College. Alia continues performing and is currently an active member of the Ramsey Wind Symphony in Ramsey, New Jersey.
Alia is passionate about giving students an opportunity to enjoy an environment that is welcoming for them and for their creativity to flow without boundaries.
