What do the holidays mean to you?

What do the holidays mean to you?

The holidays are a wonderful time to reflect and create new goals and dreams as we prepare for a new year.

Some of our staff share what the holidays mean to them.

Joseph Amodeo, ETM Executive Director

“The holidays are a special time of year that bring together family, friends, and colleagues to celebrate the bonds that unite us. As we come together, we express our gratitude for the past year while putting forth our hopes for the New Year.

It’s during this season of peace and hope that we also share our talents and treasure with those causes that are particularly close to our hearts. All of us at Education Through Music are grateful for the generosity of others during this season of giving. Your support enables us to share the magic of music with thousands of children throughout New York City.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I try to remember that they are about being together, celebrating family, and spreading the joy of the season through small acts of kindness.”

Lina Li, ETM Finance Associate

“The holidays mean lots of presents for my kids, good times and good food with friends and family, and joyful spirits in the air.”

Sharisse Brannon, ETM Human Resources Associate

“To me, it means time with family and friends. It’s a festive time of the year. It’s also my birthday month. I love having a birthday so close to the holidays. It’s the one time of the year everyone from all aspects of my life is in one room together.”

Naomi Fernandez, ETM Instructional Supervisor

“Christmas is quite nostalgic for me. Growing up in Germany (ages 5 – 11), Christmas was a magical time of year that included holiday markets, parades, hot chocolate, holiday parties and best of all, great music that made everything and everyone seem jolly!”
