Metropolitan Opera Singer Visits PS 3

On Thursday March 1st, Morris Robinson, a bass who performs regularly with the Metropolitan Opera, visited ETM partner school P.S. 3 in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.

P.S. 3 students performed two numbers — "Froggie Went A' Courting" and "Three Billy Goats Gruff" — before listening to Robinson sing arias from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. Robinson then answered questions from the students. In thank-you notes to Robinson, students raved about the performance.

“What a Party!”

On Saturday, January 27th, the Dirty Sock Funtime Band brought down the Pelham Picture House with a benefit concert to support ETM. The concert was the brainchild of Kerri and Kevin Sanford, who wanted to throw a birthday party for their daughter Bella while at the same time helping less fortunate children. Over 250 children and their parents came to dance in the aisles and support ETM.

The Dirty Socks and the Pelham Picture House both donated their services for the event, which raised over $5,200 for ETM’s programs!

On Thursday, January 25th, ETM hosted a mid-winter "Wine/ Appreciation Party" for the ETM Associates, ETM teaching artists, and their friends. Held in the Moore Brothers Wine Company's private event space, the wine tasting was ETM's way of saying "thank you" to everyone for all of their incredible hard work and support throughout the year.

Special thanks to Elena Cho and Sarah Keh for chairing the event, and to the staff at Moore Brothers Wine Company.
