Adam Payne

Adam Payne, with over 20 years of experience in education, has transitioned from the music classroom to a dynamic role as Assistant Director of Programs. As a music teacher, Adam has a knack for turning complex ideas into engaging and accessible lessons. He has extensive experience in the Charter School system and with the Department of Education in NYC. His ability to navigate complexity and inspire others has now become the foundation of his work at Education Through Music. As a musician, Adam has shared the stage with Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, and more. He received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a Jazz Studies minor from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. He then moved on to school leadership receiving his Master’s in School Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has helped guide teams to achieving their best, focusing on creating training programs that are not only effective but also enjoyable. Outside of work, Adam enjoys exploring new ideas, whether through books, podcasts, over tacos with Cholula hot sauce or a slice of pizza from Saluggi’s. He spends his time with his wife and two daughters. He believes that learning is a lifelong journey and is dedicated to helping others find their path.
