Cecil Smart, Jr.

Cecil Smart is a Principal on the Sixth Street Asset Based Finance team focused on commercial and esoteric assets. Prior to joining Sixth Street, Mr. Smart was a Senior Managing Director with Kroll Bond Rating Agency, where he led the Commercial ABS group. Before Kroll, Mr. Smart worked for DZ Bank, where he spent time as a vice president in the asset securitization group. Mr. Smart received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MS in Environmental Science from University of Arizona and a BS in Chemical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Jersey City with his wife and daughter. He and his wife are great fans of all types of music and made a point to introduce their daughter to jazz and classical music through the Jazz at Lincoln Center’s WeBop Program and the New York Philharmonic’s Young People’s Concert Series.
