Matthew Sellier

Matthew is a musician, luthier, and teacher originally from Pelham, New York. While he loves and is conversant in many types of music, he currently works in the realm of Middle Eastern classical music, for which he plays a Turkish Lute called the tanbur; he also uses electronics in a number of contexts, and plays Javanese Gamelan, as well. Matthew loves teaching about a wide variety of music traditions, making connections between them, and encouraging students to embrace experimentation and personal creativity.
