Nick Biagini
Nick Biagini is a performer, educator, and composer/arranger. Nick has performed alongside such greats as Dave Holland, Arturo O’Farrill, Steve Wilson, Glen David Andrews, Nichelle Mungo, Chico Pinhiero, Charmaine Neville, and Mitch Chakour. He is a member of The Seulah Noh Jazz Orchestra, The Jeremy Turgeon Quintet, The BOSS Band, Foley, and more.
Nick was born into a musical family and began to pursue music at an early age – learning guitar at 5 and beginning saxophone lessons at 9. Nick later earned his bachelor’s degree in Jazz and African American Musics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst 2018, where he received two Student Downbeat Awards and was a two-time state champion of the MTNA chamber music competition. Nick then went on to receive his Masters in Jazz Performance at The New England Conservatory in 2022 and was a recipient of the Henry T. and Mary W. Dunham Scholarship. During his time at NEC, he studied privately with such greats as Melissa Aldana, Jerry Bergonzi, Frank Carlberg, Brian Levy, Donny McCaslin, and Miguel Zenon. He also got the opportunity to work in ensemble settings with Jason Moran, Dave Holland, and Arturo O’Farrill. At NEC, Nick had the honor of being one of the soloists for the world premiere of Chris Brubeck’s piece “Fifty.”
Nick spent five years as an educator and administrator for South Shore Conservatory, Massachusetts’ largest community music school. Nick was a faculty member of the Jazz/Rock/Pop and Woodwind departments at The South Shore Conservatory. He was also one of the leaders of the school’s rock band program and the assistant program director of SSC’s Summer Music Festival. Nick taught band in Abington Public School and The Meadowbrook school in Weston.
