Senior Director of Development

Tara DeWorsop

Tara’s work supporting social impact focused organizations has taken her across the U.S., Asia (Japan, China, India), Australia, and South Africa—shaping a career rooted in connecting people to purpose. For over 15 years, Tara has led cross-cultural, mission-driven work in the nonprofit and education sectors, spanning fundraising, communications, and program development. Whether building partnerships or telling compelling stories, she approaches work with a people-first mindset and a belief in the power of relationships to fuel lasting impact. Tara is passionate about creating bridges—between sectors, ideas, and people—to spark transformative collaborations.

Tara has a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Rutgers University, holds an MBA from NYU Stern where she specialized in Social Impact, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Multi-Sector Communications. Her Ph.D. research explores autobiographical narrative style storytelling and what drives decision-making and systemic change, particularly for marginalized youth in NYC.

In her free time, she is trying to train her rescue to be less of a scaredy cat and more of an adventure cat. She is also an active hobbyist and loves drawing, painting, and (most recently) revisiting playing the piano and flute–two instruments she played regularly for about 12 years and is excited to pick up again.
