ETM Receives Highest Possible Rating from Charity Navigator

For the third consecutive year, Charity Navigator , America's premier independent charity evaluator, has awarded ETM its highest rating for its ability to effectively manage and grow its finances. Only 13% of all charities evaluated receive three consecutive four-star rating, indicating that ETM outperforms the majority of non-profits in America with respect to fiscal responsibility.

11,000 Children – One Child at a Time

A former teaching artist with ETM, Jessica Parr is now employed as a full-time music teacher at P.S. 76 in the Bronx.  She shares a story about one of her students:

“Last year, I had a shy little boy named Justin in one of my music classes who signed up for a special keyboard class after school.  He was at every single practice and always came on time and prepared.  In music class he would very rarely speak out but always knew the answers when I called on him.

ETM Board Welcomes Two New Members

Students from ETM partner school PS 68 were invited to perform at New York City Councilman Larry Seabrook's Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Luncheon in Co-op City in the Bronx. Steve Herx, 1959-2009

Stephen Herx, ETM's former Director of Programming, passed away on Wednesday January 7th at 8:19 AM. He was surrounded by family and friends during the last stages of his long battle with cancer. 

Steve was a lifelong educator and had served as ETM's Director of Programs from 2004 until he stepped down last June. He was an invaluable member of the ETM family and trained, supervised, mentored, developed curricula and resource materials for the organization.
